Welcome to the Old Castle Brewery!
The 'Old Castle Brewery' - A house in a quiet yet central location – situated on Mirow Castle Island directly on the lake. Nestled in the heart of the Mecklenburg Lake District, the castle island also houses the residence of the Dukes of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the Church of St. John with its ducal crypt, the gatehouse, and the beautiful Lovers' Island.
The 'Old Castle Brewery' already in 1705 in the northern part of the castle grounds, in a brick building dating from the 15th century, formerly a commandery of the Knights Hospitaller.
The impressive ice cellar with its three vaults likely dates back to this period. A journey back in time is something you simply must experience at the evening events in our themed restaurant, now known as the 'Ritterkeller' (Knights' Cellar). Lovers of hearty cuisine will find themselves thoroughly satisfied here in a convivial atmosphere.
Brewery locations are changing and from the 'Old Castle Brewery' It has since become a small, cozy restaurant with an attached hotel and a magnificent lakeside terrace that invites you to linger.
